Application
Bayris Hydrophobic Impregnation is designed for impregnating porous mineral substrates to provide hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties, increasing their durability and service life. It is applied to reduce the destructive effects caused by repeated wetting, freezing, thawing and drying, while preserving the aesthetic appearance of the surface. Suitable for brickwork, wall panels, limestone, porous and natural stone, fired clay products, slate, roof tiles, renders and other vertical or inclined surfaces. Suitable for both interior and exterior use. Can be used as a finishing treatment or as an intermediate layer beneath paint coatings.
Properties
Bayris Hydrophobic Impregnation provides long-lasting protection against water penetration and excessive moisture absorption. It improves capillary water resistance, moisture resistance and frost resistance of the substrate. The treated surface is resistant to weathering and UV radiation. It helps prevent efflorescence, dirt build-up, green growth and enhances the colour intensity of painted concrete products. In liquid form, the product is virtually transparent with a slight bluish tint.
Application Method
Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +8°C and +25°C and relative humidity between 50% and 75%. Apply using a brush, roller or spray equipment in one coat. Highly absorbent substrates should be treated with an additional coat using the wet-on-wet method. Clean tools with water immediately after use.
