Purpose
PVA Adhesive "Universal Super" by Bayris is intended for fast bonding in any combination of wood, paper, cardboard, leather and fabric products that may be exposed to occasional high humidity in interior environments, with wood moisture content of up to 18%. It is effective for bonding paper and fabric to wooden, glass and metal surfaces. Suitable as a component in putties, primers, water-based concrete mixes, matt and gloss emulsion paints and other formulations applied to gypsum, plasterboard surfaces, plasters, chipboard and wood-based panels. Suitable for use in premises intended for children.
Characteristics
Ready-to-use material. After drying, it exhibits minimal shrinkage and forms a flexible, transparent, high-strength adhesive bond with excellent light resistance. Withstands temperatures from -30°C to +80°C. When added to construction mixes, it improves workability and adhesion during application, while increasing strength and flexibility after drying. Does not hinder vapour permeability. In liquid form, it is a viscous milky-white or slightly yellowish liquid free from lumps and foreign inclusions. Surface film formation is permissible.
Composition
Polyvinyl acetate dispersion and functional additives.
Storage Conditions
Store and transport in the original sealed container at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Warning! PVA dispersion exposed to low temperatures is not suitable for use.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be visually clean, degreased, dry, even, dust-free and suitable for treatment. Dry the wood to its normal moisture content (8-10%) and allow it to acclimatise. Sand varnished surfaces with abrasive paper.
Application
Carry out work when the substrate, dispersion and ambient temperature are between +10°C and +20°C and the relative humidity is between 50% and 70%. Stir thoroughly before use. When adding to construction mixes and paint products, introduce the adhesive together with the mixing water. Apply a thin layer to one of the surfaces being bonded using an adhesive roller or adhesive application equipment. After joining the surfaces, press the bonded parts firmly together. Immediately clean tools with a soap solution and then rinse with water.
Drying Time
4 minutes for paper and cardboard. Approximately 5-6 hours for fabric and leather; up to 24 hours for wood at a temperature of 20°C and a relative humidity of 70%. Full bond strength develops during the following 48 hours.
Coverage
140.0-200.0 g/m² depending on the application method and the material being bonded.
