Description and Properties

The “Interior Standard” Decorative Coating System from the PROM-DECOR range by Bayris is a specialised wall and ceiling coating system designed for creating “Americana” finishes and other classic machine-applied textures (such as “Grotto” and “Travertino”). It is intended for the decorative finishing of both new and existing mineral substrates (concrete, cement-lime, cement-sand, gypsum-based and similar surfaces), as well as plasterboard sheets, providing long-term protection and preservation. Recommended for creating decorative, wear-resistant finishing coatings inside buildings, including residential entrance halls, stairwells, administrative and office corridors, public buildings, industrial and commercial premises.

“Interior Standard” coating (decorative plaster) by Bayris is a ready-to-use paste-like material with a sand-coloured appearance. It creates an elastic, textured, thin-layer coating resistant to minor substrate movements caused by building settlement and other mechanical influences. The material is characterised by excellent colour stability, abrasion resistance and strong adhesion to the substrate. Reinforcing microfibres incorporated into the formulation help prevent microcracking and ensure integrity and durability, even across large surface areas. The material can be tinted. The decorative coating system has been specifically developed for machine application, significantly reducing application time.

Fire Safety: According to certified fire test reports, the material is classified as Group G1 (low combustibility materials) and RP1 for flame spread (materials that do not spread flame).

Product and Surface Preparation

Before use, thoroughly mix the product without aerating it.

The substrate must be properly prepared, level, sufficiently strong, free from delamination, biological growth and must be primed. The substrate moisture content must not exceed 3%. Cement-based plasters should cure for at least 14 days, while filled and skim-coated surfaces should cure for at least 3 days. Priming should be carried out using BAYRIS “QUARTZ GRUNT” adhesion primer with quartz filler. Highly absorbent, porous or weak substrates should first be treated with a BAYRIS deep-penetrating primer. Surfaces affected by microorganisms should be mechanically cleaned and additionally treated with BAYRIS “BIOSTOP” antiseptic primer.

Application

The material is ready for application using specialised equipment: an air compressor (working pressure approximately 5 bar), projection gun (plaster spray gun), connecting hose, and a wide stainless-steel plastering trowel.

Application should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures between +5°C and +35°C and relative humidity levels of 50–80%. Before application, mix thoroughly without aeration. If viscosity adjustment is required, the material may be diluted with water by no more than 2%. The material droplets should be applied evenly across the surface, with the density adjusted according to the selected texture effect. Within the following 20–35 minutes, the chosen texture should be formed across the entire soft layer using circular movements with a stainless-steel trowel. The final texture depends on application parameters such as air pressure, spray nozzle diameter and material viscosity.

ATTENTION!

Large areas are best finished by two applicators working together. One applies the material while the second follows behind to create the texture. To ensure uniform colour consistency across large surfaces, use material from the same production batch.
