Description and Properties
The “Quartz Adhesion Primer” from the “PROM-DECOR” range by TM “Bayris” (“Prom-Decor” TM “Bayris”) is a specialised product used for preliminary priming and strengthening of substrates before applying the “Interior Standard” and “Interior Pro” decorative coating systems by TM “BAYRIS”. The product can be used on concrete surfaces, cement-lime and cement-sand renders, gypsum-based substrates, walls and ceilings. Suitable for both interior applications and for preserving external thermal insulation systems based on expanded polystyrene boards during winter periods. It protects against water penetration. The primer creates a rough-textured layer on smooth, dense and absorbent surfaces, allowing subsequent decorative layers to be applied evenly and securely. The resulting coating is resistant to temperature fluctuations, helps prevent staining and reduces the risk of colour variation in decorative coating systems and decorative plasters. Thanks to its specially developed formulation, the primer provides enhanced covering properties. In liquid form, the product is white and contains a quartz filler.
Fire Safety: according to DSNS test reports, the material belongs to combustibility class “G1” (low-combustibility materials) and flame spread class “RP1” (materials that do not spread flame).
Preparation of the Product and Surface
Before use, thoroughly mix the product until homogeneous. Do not dilute with water.
The substrate must be level, sound, visually clean, dry, free from dust, delamination, oil contamination, chalk residues, adhesive residues, lime-based coatings, silicone-based coatings and otherwise suitable for treatment.
Highly absorbent, porous and weak substrates should first be treated with a deep-penetrating primer TM “BAYRIS”. Surfaces affected by microorganisms should be mechanically cleaned and additionally treated with “BIO STOP” antiseptic primer TM “BAYRIS”.
Application
Application should be carried out when the substrate and ambient temperature are between +8°C and +30°C, with relative air humidity between 50% and 80%. Apply using a brush, roller or masonry brush. Clean tools immediately with water after use. The next stage of finishing work may begin after 24 hours, provided that the coating is resistant to scratching with a metal tool.
Warning! During application, protect the surface from direct sunlight, rain and wind until the material has completely dried.
