Description and properties
“Latex Facade” (Acrylic Based) Base A/C by TM “Bayris” is a water-based facade paint designed for the decorative and protective coating of facades on residential, commercial, public and industrial buildings, as well as for the renovation of existing paint finishes. It is especially recommended for thermal insulation systems incorporating expanded polystyrene (EPS).
“Latex Facade” by TM “Bayris” can also be used in interiors exposed to high levels of wear, such as stairwells, corridors, kitchens and bathrooms. It is suitable for application on prepared cement, gypsum, plasterboard and concrete substrates, as well as cement-lime, polymer and polymer-cement renders.
The resulting finish is white, matt (gloss level G3 < 10 at 85°), fine-textured (particle size S1 – less than 100 μm), medium film thickness (E2 – less than 100 μm), medium vapour permeability (Class V2) and resistance to algae, moss, mould and blue stain fungi.
“Latex Facade” (Acrylic Based) by TM “Bayris” creates a decorative coating with Class 1 wet scrub resistance (suitable for repeated wet cleaning) and Class 1 opacity at a coverage rate of 5.5 m²/l, according to EN 13300.
Environmental benefits are confirmed in accordance with the requirements of the international ISO 14024 standard.
Product and surface preparation
Before application, the paint should be thoroughly mixed using a low-speed mixer until a homogeneous consistency is achieved.
Surface preparation should be carried out in accordance with applicable building standards. The substrate must be dry (moisture content not exceeding 4%, or 1% for gypsum substrates), clean and free from dust, dirt and other contaminants. New cement and cement-lime substrates should cure for at least 28 days before painting, concrete surfaces for 3 months, and thermal insulation systems for at least 72 hours.
Previously varnished or oil- or alkyd-painted surfaces should be sanded to create a rough surface and then cleaned of dust. Old chalk-based coatings and limewash should be completely removed, and uneven areas repaired with filler.
North-facing or shaded facades, as well as areas affected by mould, should be treated with “Bio Stop” TM Bayris according to the instructions. After cleaning and dust removal, the surface should be primed with “Profi Grunt” TM Bayris to strengthen the substrate and equalise absorbency. Areas not intended for painting should be protected with masking film.
Application
Application should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures between +5°C and +30°C, avoiding direct sunlight, and at relative humidity not exceeding 80%.
“Latex Facade” (Acrylic Based) facade paint should be applied in two coats over a properly primed substrate. Some bright and saturated colours (red, orange, yellow, green, etc.) may require an additional coat. Depending on the substrate and application conditions (temperature, humidity, porosity and substrate type), the first coat may be diluted with up to 10% water. Dilution of the finishing coat is not recommended, as adding water reduces the coating’s performance properties.
Apply using a brush, roller or spray equipment, including airless spraying. The paint should not be applied during strong winds, rain or direct sunlight unless suitable protective screening is used. These conditions should be maintained for at least 3 days after painting (5 days for highly saturated colours). Failure to follow these recommendations may reduce coating durability and lead to premature failure. The interval between coats is 1–4 hours depending on weather conditions.
To ensure colour consistency on large surfaces, painting should be carried out continuously using the “wet-on-wet” method, using material from the same production batch or by mixing different batches together. Any interruptions should be made at corners or other natural joints where they will be least noticeable. The final appearance should be assessed only after the second coat has completely dried.
Wash tools with water immediately after use.
Tinting
“Latex Facade” (Acrylic Based) facade paint by TM “Bayris” can be tinted into a wide range of colours using water-based or universal pigment pastes, either manually or by machine.
Base A is used as a white paint and for tinting into light shades.
Base C is intended exclusively for tinting into bright and saturated colours.
The final colour develops only after the paint has completely dried. Tinted paint cannot be returned or exchanged.
IMPORTANT!
Under normal conditions, the coating develops its full performance properties after 28 days. Intensive cleaning should therefore be avoided during this period. The painted surface may be cleaned with water or a mild soap solution using a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid hard-bristled brushes, as excessive scrubbing may create glossy areas on the matt finish.
The manufacturer guarantees that the paint meets the declared technical specifications. Any modification of the product composition, misuse of the product, or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions may significantly affect performance. Suitability for specific substrates and compatibility with other materials should always be verified through trial application. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for direct or indirect damage resulting from conditions beyond its control.
VOC content
The VOC limit value for this product is 40 g/l. The ready-to-use product contains up to 30 g/l VOC. VOC content complies with the requirements of the Technical Regulation on VOC emission limitation (subcategory “3”).
Health, safety and disposal
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Seek medical advice if necessary. When spray-applying the paint, use a suitable respirator.
Dispose of waste in accordance with applicable regulations. Empty containers and liquid residues should be taken to authorised construction or hazardous waste collection facilities. Do not dispose of construction waste in general household waste containers. Do not pour leftover paint into drains, watercourses or onto the ground. Contains a mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1). May cause an allergic reaction.
