Intended Use
PVA Adhesive D3 – Water-Resistant by Bayris is designed for professional bonding of paper-based materials, fabric, leather, porcelain, and both softwood and hardwood. Suitable for furniture manufacturing and furniture panels, interior finishing and cladding applications, as well as wooden doors, windows and staircases. Recommended where enhanced bond strength is required. Bonded products may be exposed to short-term running water, condensation and/or high humidity in interior environments and may also be used outdoors when protected from direct weather exposure. Effective for assembling beehives and for fixing mirrors and ceramic tiles. Suitable for use in rooms intended for children.
Properties
Ready-to-use adhesive with maximum initial grab. Moisture-resistant and water-resistant. Provides minimal shrinkage during curing, helping to fill voids and cracks. Heat-resistant and frost-resistant. Withstands temperatures from -30°C to +80°C. After drying, forms a flexible, transparent, high-strength adhesive bond with excellent light resistance. In liquid form, it is a viscous milky-white or slightly yellowish liquid, free from lumps and foreign inclusions. Formation of a surface film is acceptable.
Composition
Polyvinyl acetate dispersion and functional additives.
Storage Conditions
Store and transport in the original sealed container at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.
Warning!
PVA dispersion that has been exposed to freezing temperatures is not suitable for use.
Surface Preparation
Dry timber to a normal moisture content of 8–10% and allow it to acclimatise. The substrate must be visually clean, degreased, dry, dust-free and suitable for treatment. Sand varnished surfaces before application.
Application
Apply at substrate, adhesive and ambient temperatures between +10°C and +20°C and relative humidity between 50% and 70%. Stir thoroughly before use. Apply a thin layer to one of the surfaces to be bonded using a notched trowel, glue roller or suitable adhesive application equipment. After joining the surfaces, apply pressure to the bonded parts. Full water resistance develops after a minimum of 7 days. Clean tools immediately with a soap solution and then rinse with water.
Drying Time
Approximately 5–6 hours for fabric and leather; 24 hours for timber at 20°C and relative humidity between 50% and 70%.
Coverage
150–200 g/m² depending on the application method and the material being bonded.
