Description and properties

"IMPREGNAT" Wood Impregnating Treatment by Bayris is a strong and durable product designed for the protection and decoration of timber. The product can be used indoors (all colour variants) and outdoors (all colours except Clear) and is suitable for all types of timber. "IMPREGNAT" by TM Bayris is ideal for finishing fences, soffits, gazebos, outbuildings, timber houses, façades and timber cladding. Thanks to its wax content, the treated surface repels water, while high-quality pigments protect the timber against UV radiation. "IMPREGNAT" Wood Impregnating Treatment by TM Bayris is a water-based, non-flammable product.

Surface and product preparation

The surface must be clean, dry (moisture content <15%) and free from dust. Old paint and varnish coatings must be removed. To protect the timber against fungal growth and mould, it is recommended to treat the surface first with "AQUAGRUNT" by Bayris and, once dry, apply "IMPREGNAT" Wood Impregnating Treatment by TM Bayris. This is particularly important for damp or aged timber. Resinous deposits should be cleaned using a universal solvent.

Stir thoroughly before use. The product is supplied ready for use and must not be diluted. The product may have a semi-liquid gel-like consistency. This is a natural characteristic and does not indicate any loss of performance.

Application

Apply using a brush or roller. Two coats are recommended, allowing a short interval between applications. Application should be carried out at temperatures above +7°C. Touch dry after 1–2 hours; subsequent coats may be applied after 1–2 hours. Full drying time is 12–24 hours.

After use, clean tools with soapy water.

Please note! The colour of the liquid product differs from the final colour after drying. Before treating large areas, it is recommended to test the selected colour on a small sample. The colour shown on the packaging label should be regarded as indicative only.

Coverage

Coverage depends on the type of substrate – from 8 m²/L on rough and absorbent surfaces to 12 m²/L on smooth surfaces with low absorbency.
