Description and properties
"Facade Silicone" weather-resistant facade paint by TM "Bayris" is designed for the decorative and protective coating of facades on residential, commercial, public and industrial buildings, as well as for renovating existing paint finishes. "Facade Silicone" facade paint is recommended for thermal insulation systems using mineral wool and expanded polystyrene (EPS). It can also be used in interiors exposed to high operational loads, such as stairwells, corridors, kitchens and bathrooms. Suitable for application on prepared cement, gypsum, plasterboard and concrete substrates, as well as cement-lime, polymer and polymer-cement renders.
"Facade Silicone" facade paint by TM "Bayris" is easy to apply and offers excellent hiding power and adhesion. It provides outstanding water repellency and self-cleaning properties. Thanks to its silicone content, the paint delivers enhanced vapour permeability. The resulting finish is white, matt (gloss class G3), fine-textured (particle size S1 – less than 100 μm), medium film thickness (dry film thickness E2 – less than 100 μm), highly vapour permeable (Class V1 – Sd < 0.14 m), and highly water-repellent (water permeability Class W2 ≤ 0.25 kg/(m²·h0.5)). The coating is also resistant to algae, moss, mould and blue stain fungi.
Environmental benefits are confirmed in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14024. The paint is free from strong odours and toxic substances.
Surface preparation
The substrate must be properly prepared, sound, evenly absorbent, degreased, visually clean, dry and free from dust, mould and other biological contamination. To equalise absorbency and protect the substrate from microorganisms, Bayris primers should be used according to their instructions. Polymer-cement decorative renders should be allowed to cure for at least 72 hours before painting.
Application
Before use, "Facade Silicone" paint should be thoroughly mixed with a low-speed mixer until homogeneous. Application should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures between +5°C and +30°C, avoiding direct sunlight, and at relative humidity not exceeding 80%.
Depending on the substrate and application conditions (temperature, humidity, porosity and substrate type), the paint may be diluted with up to 10% water for the first coat and up to 5% for subsequent coats. The same amount of water should be added to all containers. Apply the paint in two coats using a brush, roller or spray equipment. Some bright and highly saturated colours may require an additional coat due to their nature. The minimum interval between coats is 1–4 hours, depending on weather conditions.
To ensure colour consistency on large surfaces, application should be carried out continuously using the "wet-on-wet" method, using material from the same production batch or by mixing batches together. Interruptions should be made only at corners or natural breaks where they will be least visible. Wash tools with water immediately after use.
Important! "Facade Silicone" paint should not be applied during strong winds, rain or direct sunlight without appropriate protective screening. These conditions should be maintained for at least 3 days after painting (5 days for highly saturated colours). Failure to follow these recommendations may reduce coating durability and lead to premature deterioration. The coating reaches its full performance properties after 28 days.
Coverage
Approximately 170 g/m² per coat, depending on the substrate type, application method and painting tools used.
Tinting
Can be tinted into a wide range of colours using water-based or universal pigment pastes, either manually or by machine. Base A is used as white paint and for tinting into light shades. Base C is intended exclusively for tinting. Tinted paint cannot be returned or exchanged.
Health, safety and disposal
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Seek medical advice if necessary. Construction waste must not be disposed of in general waste containers. Dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations. Empty containers and liquid residues should be taken to authorised hazardous waste collection facilities.
VOC content
"Facade Silicone" facade paint by TM "Bayris" contains a mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1). May cause an allergic reaction.
VOC content complies with the requirements of VOC emission regulations for exterior mineral wall coatings (subcategory 3). Limit value: 40 g/l. Maximum VOC content in the ready-to-use product: 30 g/l.
