Description and properties

"Facade" weather-resistant acrylic facade paint by TM "Bayris" is designed for the decorative and protective coating of facades on residential, industrial and commercial buildings, as well as walls and ceilings in areas exposed to intensive wear and environmental influences. It is suitable for application on prepared lime, cement-lime, cement, gypsum, plasterboard, concrete, previously painted, wooden and wood-based surfaces, silicate brick and stone, paintable wallpapers, fibre-cement boards and decorative renders.

Environmental benefits are confirmed in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14024. This facade paint does not cause allergic reactions or irritation and contains no strong odours or highly toxic substances. It is easy to apply and provides excellent hiding power. The resulting coating is white, matt (gloss class G3), fine-textured (particle size S1 – less than 100 μm), medium-build (dry film thickness E3 – not less than 100 μm), resistant to repeated cleaning with non-abrasive detergents, and resistant to algae, mould and fungal growth.

Surface preparation

Surface preparation should be carried out in accordance with applicable building standards. The substrate must be sound, evenly absorbent, degreased, visually clean, dry and free from dust, mould and other biological contamination. To equalise absorbency and protect the substrate against microorganisms, Bayris primers should be used according to their instructions. Polymer-cement finishing renders should be allowed to cure for at least 72 hours before painting.

Application

Depending on the substrate and application conditions (temperature, humidity, porosity and substrate type), the paint may be diluted with up to 10% water for the first coat and no more than 5% for subsequent coats. The same amount of water should be added to all containers. Before application, the paint should be thoroughly mixed with a low-speed mixer until homogeneous.

Apply the paint in two coats using a brush, roller or spray equipment. Some bright and highly saturated colours may require an additional coat due to their nature. The interval between coats should be 1–4 hours depending on weather conditions.

To ensure colour consistency on large surfaces, painting should be carried out continuously using the "wet-on-wet" method, using material from the same production batch or by mixing different batches together. Any interruptions should be made at corners or other natural joints where they will be least noticeable. Wash tools with water immediately after use.

Application and drying should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures between +5°C and +30°C, avoiding direct sunlight, and at relative humidity not exceeding 80%. The paint should not be applied during strong winds, rain or direct sunlight without suitable protective screening. These conditions should be maintained for at least 3 days after painting (5 days for highly saturated colours). Failure to comply may reduce coating strength and lead to premature deterioration.

Important! "Facade" acrylic facade paint by TM "Bayris" should not be applied during strong winds, rainfall or direct sunlight without protective screening. These conditions should be maintained for at least 3 days after application (5 days for highly saturated colours). Failure to follow these recommendations may reduce coating durability and eventually lead to coating failure. The coating develops its full performance properties after 28 days.

Coverage

Approximately 170 g/m² per coat, depending on the substrate type, application method and painting tools used.

Tinting

Can be tinted into a wide range of colours using water-based or universal pigment pastes, either manually or by machine. Base A is used as white paint and for tinting into light shades. Base C is intended exclusively for tinting. Tinted paint cannot be returned or exchanged.

Health, safety and disposal

Keep out of reach of children. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Seek medical advice if necessary. Construction waste must not be disposed of in general waste containers. Dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations. Empty containers and liquid residues should be taken to authorised hazardous waste collection facilities.
