Application
Bayris “Quartz-Grunt” Primer is designed for preliminary priming and strengthening of prepared substrates before the application of acrylic and mineral decorative plasters and paints. Suitable for both interior and exterior use. It can also be used as a waterproof protective layer for plastered surfaces and as a temporary standalone coating for preserving external thermal insulation systems during the winter period. Suitable for application on concrete substrates, cement-lime and cement-sand plasters, gypsum surfaces, brickwork, walls and ceilings, as well as an intermediate bonding layer on glossy, metal and wooden surfaces before applying cement-polymer mortars.
Characteristics
Environmental benefits are confirmed in accordance with the international standard DSTU ISO 14024. The coating does not cause allergic reactions or irritating effects. Free from strong odours and highly toxic substances. Bayris “Quartz-Grunt” Primer forms a rough textured layer on smooth, dense and low-absorbency substrates, providing enhanced adhesion of subsequent finishing layers to the surface. Its high adhesion significantly facilitates the application and texturing of decorative plasters. The resulting weather-resistant and vapour-permeable coating helps prevent staining and reduces the risk of colour variation within the plaster layer. Improves the bonding of old plaster to concrete or oil-based surfaces, significantly increasing reliability during painting and finishing works on concrete. In liquid form, the primer is milky white. The dried coating is white.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be level, solid, visually clean and dry, free from dust, loose particles, oil, chalk, adhesive, lime and silicone-based coatings, and suitable for treatment.
Application Method
Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +8 °C and +25 °C and relative humidity between 50% and 80%. Do not dilute with water. Before application, thoroughly mix the primer to a uniform consistency using a low-speed mixer. Apply using a brush, roller or masonry brush. Clean tools immediately with water after use. Further finishing works may be carried out 24 hours after priming, provided that the resulting coating is resistant to scratching with a metal tool.
Warning! During application and drying, protect the surface from direct sunlight, rain and wind until the material has fully dried.
