Purpose

Copper-Based Wood Bioprotective Concentrate "Concentrat 1:6". Grey-Green by Bayris is intended for the protection of timber against UV radiation, biological deterioration, decay and mould. It prevents the development of algae, lichens, mosses, mould fungi, blue stain fungi and wood-destroying insects. The product is designed for the protection of structural timber elements (attic structures, timber frames, log constructions, roof truss systems, etc.), construction timber (flooring, fences, gazebos, decking boards, posts, etc.) and any other timber exposed to demanding service conditions. Suitable for domestic, professional and industrial use under Use Classes 1–4.1 in accordance with EN 335-1:2010 (the use class depends on the application method).

Copper-Based Wood Bioprotective Concentrate "Concentrat 1:6". Grey-Green by Bayris is a blue-coloured concentrate (the colour of the product in the container before use) containing copper compounds, algicides, fungicides, insecticides and performance-enhancing additives. After application, it changes the colour of the timber to a grey-green (olive) shade and provides effective long-term protection.

Characteristics

Copper-Based Wood Bioprotective Concentrate "Concentrat 1:6". Grey-Green by Bayris contains active copper particles and provides long-lasting protection against a wide range of biological threats and weathering effects, including UV radiation. Suitable for both deep and surface impregnation of timber species with moderate to high absorbency. Does not alter the timber structure, does not cause chemical degradation of cellulose in the surface layer and does not form a polymer film or salt deposits. Has a characteristic ammonia odour. Classified as having low corrosive activity towards ferrous metals.

Drying time
4–6 hours per coat.

Coverage

250–400 ml/m². Actual consumption may increase depending on timber species, construction details, application method, timber absorbency and the size of the treated surface.

Surface preparation
The substrate must be visually clean, free from dust, signs of biological activity, stains and decay, and suitable for treatment (mechanically clean if required). The moisture content of the timber must not exceed 25%.

Application

The working solution should be prepared on site at a dilution ratio of 1:6 (1 litre of concentrate to 6 litres of clean or distilled water). Application should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures between +5°C and +25°C and at a relative air humidity of 50% to 75%. Stir thoroughly before use.

Apply evenly using a brush, scrubbing brush, roller or spray equipment. To achieve the required protective properties, apply 1–2 coats in accordance with the recommended coverage rates. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Treated timber should be protected from water exposure for at least 48 hours. The total fixation period within the timber may take up to 3 weeks depending on timber species, moisture content, timber thickness, ambient temperature and the quantity of product applied. Once fully dry, the timber may be coated with any decorative or protective finish.

Please note! Any modification of the finished product composition, use of the product for purposes other than those intended and/or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions may significantly affect its performance characteristics. The suitability of the product for specific materials and/or compatibility with other materials must be determined by the user through trial application. The manufacturer shall not be liable for direct or indirect losses resulting from the use of the product, as it is unable to control all application conditions.
