Purpose
"ECO-BIO PROTECT" Wood Bioprotective Concentrate 1:2 by Bayris is designed to protect timber from biological deterioration, decay and mould in demanding service conditions, including direct contact with fresh water and soil, as well as exposure to weathering. It prevents the development of algae, lichens, mosses, fungi and wood-destroying insects. This exterior-use product is intended for the protection of construction timber (fences, posts, footbridges, pile foundations, etc.) and any other timber exposed to heavy-duty service conditions. Protective properties for timber used under Use Classes 3–4 in accordance with EN 335-1:2010 are achieved through surface application. Suitable for domestic, professional and industrial use.
Characteristics
A concentrated natural treatment containing specialised resins that does not leach out during service life and provides long-lasting protection against a wide range of biological threats. Suitable for deep and surface impregnation of timber species with moderate to high absorbency. Changes the timber shade to light brown/grey, making untreated areas easy to identify. Does not alter the timber structure, does not cause chemical degradation of cellulose in the surface layer and does not form a polymer film or salt deposits. Has a strong characteristic odour that gradually disappears within 2–6 months. Classified as having low corrosive activity towards ferrous metals.
Application
Surface preparation: the substrate must be visually clean, free from dust, signs of biological activity, stains and decay, and suitable for treatment. The moisture content of the substrate must not exceed 28%.
The working solution should be prepared on site at a dilution ratio of 1:2 (1 litre of product to 2 litres of water). Application should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures between +10°C and +23°C and at a relative air humidity of 50% to 75%. Stir thoroughly before use. Apply evenly using a brush, scrubbing brush, roller or spray equipment. To achieve the required protective properties, apply 1–2 coats in accordance with the recommended coverage rates. For Use Class 4 protection, apply the product undiluted. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Once fully dry, the timber may be coated with any decorative or protective finish.
Drying time: 2–5 hours.
Please note! Any modification of the finished product composition, use of the product for purposes other than those intended and/or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions may significantly affect its performance characteristics. The suitability of the product for specific materials and/or compatibility with other materials must be determined by the user through trial application. The manufacturer shall not be liable for direct or indirect losses resulting from the use of the product, as it is unable to control all application conditions.
Health and safety / Disposal
