Application
AQUAGRUNT Ultra Wood Preservative by Bayris is designed to reduce deterioration and provide long-term biological protection for timber products such as windows, doors, façades, gates, fences and cladding, as well as load-bearing structural elements including roof structures, frames and similar constructions. It is used as an intermediate treatment before the application of decorative and protective coatings such as wood stains, varnish stains, impregnations, varnishes, oils, enamels and paints. Suitable for both interior and exterior use. Intended for professional and industrial applications. Suitable for timber species with moderate to high absorbency that are exposed to direct water contact and atmospheric precipitation.
Properties
This is a surface-active treatment. AQUAGRUNT effectively protects timber against household fungi, mould, blue stain fungi, algae, bacteria, termites, insects and wood-boring pests. It actively eliminates microorganisms on already affected surfaces and helps protect building occupants from airborne mould and fungal spores. The product is colourless, odourless and resistant to wash-out. It does not cause chemical degradation of cellulose in the surface layer, does not form a polymer film and does not leave a salt deposit.
Drying Time
3–4 hours for each coat at an air temperature of (20±2) °C and relative humidity not exceeding 65%. The treatment becomes fully fixed within the timber after 48 hours, provided the surface is not exposed to atmospheric precipitation.
Coverage
(0.2–0.3) L/m² depending on the service conditions of the timber: 0.2 L/m² for exterior applications under cover and 0.3 L/m² where the substrate is exposed to atmospheric precipitation. Actual consumption may vary depending on the structure and dimensions of the treated surface, the design of the elements and application losses.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be visually clean, dry, free from dust, signs of bacterial activity, stains, decay, paint coatings, cement-based residues and suitable for treatment. The moisture content of the substrate must not exceed 28%.
Application Method
Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +10°C and +25°C and relative humidity between 50% and 75%. Suitable for spray application, immersion treatment or application by brush. For immersion treatment, the timber should remain submerged for at least 30 minutes. Apply a minimum of two coats with intermediate drying between applications.
Designed to protect wood against household fungi, mould, blue stain fungi, algae, bacteria, termites, insects and wood-boring pests.
