Description and properties
"STOP FIRE" Fire-Retardant & Bioprotective Treatment. Clear by TM Bayris is an impregnating treatment containing fire-retardant additives and wood biodeterioration inhibitors. This non-pigmented product is intended for the comprehensive protection of structural timber elements (attic structures, timber frames, log constructions, roof truss systems, load-bearing timber house structures, beams, etc.) and other construction timber against fire and biological deterioration. Suitable for all timber species that are not in direct contact with water and are not exposed to weathering under Use Classes 1, 2 and 3.1 in accordance with EN 335-1. Suitable for domestic, industrial and professional use.
"STOP FIRE" Fire-Retardant & Bioprotective Treatment. Clear by TM Bayris has been certified by the State Certification Centre of Ukraine in accordance with test reports issued by the Fire Safety Research Centre and the Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The product provides Class I fire-retardant performance (when applied in accordance with the recommended consumption rates and application methods) and contains no carcinogenic substances or acids.
Characteristics
"STOP FIRE" Fire-Retardant & Bioprotective Treatment. Clear by TM Bayris is a protective impregnating treatment with excellent penetration properties. It protects timber against blue stain fungi, mould and wood-decaying fungi, while preventing the development of algae, lichens, mosses and wood-destroying insects. The product saturates the timber with fire-retardant agents that significantly increase the ignition temperature and help prevent rapid ignition and combustion when exposed to open flame. Odourless, moderately resistant to leaching and clear in appearance (as indicated on the packaging). Classified as having low corrosive activity towards ferrous metals (although prolonged contact may cause corrosion). Does not alter the timber structure, does not cause chemical degradation of cellulose in the surface layer and does not form a polymer film or salt deposits.
Application
Application should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures between +5°C and +25°C and at a relative air humidity of 50% to 75%. If sediment forms, the product should be stirred thoroughly before use.
Surface preparation
The substrate must be clean, dry, free from dust, stains, signs of biodeterioration, paint coatings and cement contamination, and suitable for treatment (mechanically clean if necessary). The moisture content of the timber must not exceed 25%. Do not use detergents to clean the surface before application. Do not apply to frozen timber.
Timber treatment may be carried out by immersion in the working solution, by the hot-cold bath process using an autoclave, by spraying, or by brush application in several consecutive coats depending on the required fire-retardant performance classification. The minimum interval between applications is 6 hours.
Coverage rates
Class I fire-retardant performance is achieved using the hot-cold bath process, immersion treatment or autoclave application. Product consumption should be 200–300 L/m3.
500–600 ml/m2 is required to achieve Class II fire-retardant performance when applied by brush, roller, brush/scrubbing brush or spray application. Actual consumption may increase depending on the structure and dimensions of the treated surface, the complexity of the timber elements and associated losses, as well as the moisture content of the timber.
Full drying time: 24 hours, depending on the timber species and moisture content.
Please note! Any modification of the finished product composition, use of the product for purposes other than those intended and/or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions may significantly affect its performance characteristics. The suitability of the product for specific materials and/or compatibility with other materials must be determined by the user through trial application. The manufacturer shall not be liable for direct or indirect losses resulting from the use of the product, as it is unable to control all application conditions.
Health and safety / Disposal
