Description and Properties
Anti-Corrosion Primer “PRIMER 2 in 1 KORROSIONSSCHUTZPRIMER” by BAYRIS is designed for coating ferrous metal surfaces (steel, cast iron, iron) used both outdoors and indoors before applying various paints and enamels. Suitable for metal structures, machinery, agricultural equipment, railway wagons, lifting cranes, pipes, tanks, gates, wickets, doors, furniture, and more. The product was developed and tested in Germany.
“PRIMER 2 in 1” by BAYRIS is manufactured using highly effective corrosion inhibitors. It provides reliable long-term protection against rust and metal deterioration. The primer can be applied directly onto rust layers up to 100 μm thick. It ensures strong adhesion between coating materials and the painted surface while improving the durability and weather resistance of the final coating. The product delivers enhanced anti-corrosion protection.
Product and Surface Preparation
If necessary, “PRIMER 2 in 1 KORROSIONSSCHUTZPRIMER” may be diluted with “Lösungsmittel Bayris” solvent to achieve the required working viscosity, but not more than 10% by weight. Stir thoroughly before use.
Before application, the surface must be cleaned of old paint coatings, rust, mill scale, dirt, dust, and grease. New surfaces should be degreased. Old rusty surfaces should be treated using a wire brush or drill with a suitable attachment to completely remove loose rust, followed by degreasing. The primer may be applied to solid rust layers up to 100 μm thick. The surface must be dry before application.
Application
Apply the 2-in-1 primer using a roller, brush, or spray method. During application, the surface temperature, product temperature, and ambient temperature must not be below +5°C, while relative air humidity should not exceed 80%.
Drying time for each coat at +22°C and 55% relative humidity: touch dry — 2 hours; full cure — 24 hours. At lower ambient temperatures, drying time increases. Coverage per single coat: 80–120 g/m².
Safety Precautions

Before use, carefully read the application instructions and product labelling. Keep out of reach of children. Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing.
VOC Content
The maximum permitted content of volatile organic compounds (VOC) for this product is 500 g/L. The product in ready-to-use form contains no more than 350 g/L. The product does not contain Pb (lead).
