Description and properties

“SUPER WEISS” Enamel by TM “Bayris” (“Super White”) is a universal gloss alkyd enamel designed for painting primed metal, timber and concrete surfaces exposed to outdoor weather conditions and indoor environments, including doors, window frames, furniture, walls, metal structures, equipment, pipes, garages, gates and similar surfaces.

The coating protects surfaces from the effects of sunlight and rain. Bayris Alkyd Enamel is a high-strength product with a service life of up to 7 years when applied in two coats over a properly primed surface. The product was developed and tested in Germany.

“SUPER WEISS” Enamel by TM “Bayris” is a professional, technologically advanced coating that is easy to apply and offers excellent hiding power. Its brilliant snow-white finish does not yellow over time. The enamel forms a smooth, even, durable and ultra-gloss finish. It is resistant to water and detergents while providing long-lasting protection against weather exposure.

Product and surface preparation

If required, the enamel may be diluted with “Lösungsmittel Bayris” solvent to a suitable working viscosity, but by no more than 10% by weight. Stir thoroughly before use.

Before painting, remove old paint coatings, rust, dirt, dust and grease. New metal surfaces must be degreased and primed. The substrate must be dry before application.

Application

Apply the enamel using a roller, brush or spray equipment. Drying time for each coat at +20°C and 55% relative humidity:

• Dust dry: 12 hours
• Fully dry: 24 hours

Drying times increase at lower temperatures and with higher product viscosity. Coverage per coat is 100–180 g/m².

Safety precautions

Flammable liquid and vapour. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces. No smoking.

Read the instructions and product labelling before use. Keep out of reach of children. Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.

VOC content

The VOC limit value for this product is 500 g/L. The ready-to-use product contains no more than 350 g/L VOC.

SUPER WEIß vs Standard White Enamel?

The difference lies not so much in the initial brightness of the shade, but in the long-term stability of the white pigment and the lightfastness of the coating.

White enamels are generally prone to:

  • photo-oxidation of the binder,

  • gradual yellowing of the alkyd film,

  • loss of optical whiteness due to UV exposure.

The SUPER WEIß formulation incorporates a highly lightfast pigment system and a stabilised alkyd binder, helping to minimise yellowing and coating degradation over time.

As a result, the key difference becomes apparent during long-term service life rather than through an immediate “brighter white” effect.

Why Do Some White Enamels Yellow Over Time?

Yellowing, particularly in lower-cost enamels and even in some mid-range products, is typically caused by:

  1. oxidation processes within the alkyd binder;

  2. the use of low-cost pigments with poor lightfastness;

  3. exposure to UV radiation and temperature fluctuations;

  4. insufficient formulation stabilisation.

In budget enamels, these processes tend to occur more quickly due to the use of lower-grade raw materials and simplified formulations. However, even high-quality white enamels may gradually lose some of their brightness over time, although this usually happens much later than with cheaper alternatives.

SUPER WEIß was developed and tested in Germany, with a strong focus on formulation control, component stability and long-term performance under atmospheric exposure.

As a result, the white finish retains its brightness and gloss for significantly longer.

Чи є різниця в довговічності покриття?

Yes. The coating is:

  • highly durable,

  • resistant to water and household cleaning agents,

  • protective against sunlight and rain,

  • designed to last up to 7 years (when applied in 2 coats over a primer).

The product was developed and tested in Germany, ensuring formulation consistency and strict quality control.

Where Is SUPER WEIß Enamel Best Used?

SUPER WEIß enamel is ideal for:

  • doors

  • window frames

  • furniture

  • metal structures

  • garages

  • gates

  • interior and exterior applications

Wherever it is important for white to stay white for years.
