Description and properties
“Acryl Eco” interior acrylic paint for walls and ceilings by TM “Bayris” is a snow-white matt paint designed for decorative and protective painting of walls and ceilings in areas with low traffic and light wear. Suitable for application on new or previously painted water-dispersion coatings over cement-lime, cement and gypsum plasters, concrete, brick, wood and wood-based substrates, as well as wallpapers and similar surfaces.
Bayris “Acryl Eco” paint does not cause allergic reactions or irritation. It is free from strong odours and highly toxic substances. The environmental benefits of the product are confirmed in accordance with ISO 14024 requirements. The paint is easy to apply and provides excellent hiding power (Class 2 at a coverage rate of 6.5 m²/l). The resulting finish is snow-white and matt, effectively concealing minor surface imperfections. It is vapour permeable, allowing the substrate to “breathe”. The coating is resistant to gentle cleaning (Class 5 wash resistance).
Surface preparation
The substrate must be carefully prepared before painting. It should be sound, evenly absorbent, degreased, visually clean, dry and free from dust, mould and other biological contamination. Fresh cement-lime plasters should be painted after 3–4 weeks from application, while gypsum plasters should be painted after 2 weeks. Poorly adhering glue-based or lime-based coatings should be removed. Cracks and uneven areas should be repaired with filler. Areas affected by mould should be treated with “Bio Stop” by TM Bayris according to the instructions. Highly absorbent or weak surfaces should be primed with “Profi Grunt” by TM Bayris according to the instructions.
Application
Before use, stir the paint thoroughly with a low-speed mixer until a uniform consistency is achieved. Apply the paint in two coats using a brush, roller or spray equipment. The product should be applied without dilution. Application should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures between +10 °C and +30 °C. The minimum interval between coats is 3 hours, depending on temperature and humidity conditions. To ensure colour consistency on large surfaces, painting should be carried out continuously using the “wet-on-wet” method and material from the same production batch, or by mixing different batches together. Any breaks in application should be made at natural joints or corners where they will be least noticeable. Wash tools with water immediately after use. During and after application, rooms should be ventilated until any residual odour has disappeared.
Important! Under normal conditions, the paint coating develops its full performance properties after 28 days. Intensive use of the painted surface should therefore be avoided during this period. The painted surface may be cleaned with a soft cloth.
Tinting
The paint is supplied in a snow-white colour and is ready for use. It can be tinted into light shades using water-based or universal pigment pastes by manual tinting. Slight colour deviations from the reference shade may occur after drying.
Tinted paint cannot be returned or exchanged.
