Application
Bayris Universal Primer is designed for penetrating and priming all mineral substrates before the application of insulating, decorative and protective coatings on walls, ceilings, floors and roofs. It is applied to strengthen the surface layer, reduce water absorption and improve adhesion between the substrate and subsequent coatings. Suitable for prepared cement-lime, cement, gypsum, plasterboard and concrete surfaces, as well as brick, stone, lacquered and dispersion-painted coatings. Recommended under renders, fillers, wallpaper adhesives, parquet systems, paints and similar finishing materials. Suitable for both interior and exterior use.
Warning!
Bayris Universal Primer is not suitable for poorly absorbent surfaces covered with ceramic tiles, oil-based paints, steel substrates, or surfaces that come into contact with drinking water and/or food products.
Properties
The Universal Primer dust-proofs and strengthens the substrate, reduces and equalises absorbency, and helps minimise the formation of efflorescence. Once dry, it forms a water-repellent film with excellent adhesion properties while remaining vapour permeable. It improves the durability and protective performance of the coating system against mechanical wear and atmospheric influences. In liquid form, the primer is milky white in colour.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be level, sound, visually clean, dry, free from dust and oily coatings, and suitable for treatment.
Application Method
Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +8°C and +25°C and relative humidity between 50% and 75%. Apply using a brush, roller or spray equipment in two consecutive coats. Allow a minimum interval of 2–3 hours between coats. Clean tools immediately with water after use. Subsequent finishing works may be carried out 24 hours after completion of priming.
Designed for deep penetration and priming of all mineral substrates before the application of insulating, decorative and protective coatings on walls, ceilings, floors and roofs. Applied to strengthen the surface layer and reduce water absorption.
