Description and properties
“MATTLATEX PRIME” Latex Paint for Interiors and Facades by TM “Bayris” is designed for the decorative and protective coating of interior walls and ceilings made of cement, cement-lime, brick, gypsum, plasterboard, wood and wood-based materials, as well as paintable wallpapers. It is also intended for the decorative and protective painting of facades on residential, commercial, public and industrial buildings, and for the renovation of existing paint coatings.
The paint provides a uniform matt finish and helps conceal minor surface imperfections. It is recommended for thermal insulation systems using expanded polystyrene (EPS). It is also suitable for areas with intensive use, including offices, educational institutions, healthcare facilities and similar environments.
Features
“MATTLATEX PRIME” by TM “Bayris” is splash-resistant and easy to apply without leaving streaks. It allows walls to breathe and offers excellent hiding power. This 2-in-1 latex paint is highly resistant to intensive cleaning and washing.
Product Highlight! The coating provides wet scrub resistance of at least 20,000 cleaning cycles with detergent, tested in accordance with DIN EN 13300.
Surface preparation
The surface must be sound, dry, clean and free from dust, grease and other contaminants. Fresh cement-lime plaster may be painted after 3–4 weeks, gypsum plaster after 2 weeks, and thermal insulation systems after at least 72 hours.
Old glue-based or lime-based coatings that are poorly adhered should be removed. Existing emulsion paint coatings in good condition should be washed with detergent solution, rinsed with clean water and allowed to dry. Surface defects and cracks should be repaired using “Master Putz” TM Bayris.
Areas affected by mould should be treated with “Bio Stop” TM Bayris according to the instructions. Highly absorbent or weak substrates should be primed with “Profi Grunt” TM Bayris in accordance with the product instructions.
Application
Before application, “MATTLATEX PRIME” paint should be thoroughly stirred until a homogeneous consistency is achieved.
Ensure that sufficient paint is prepared for each continuous surface. When tinting paint from different production batches or package sizes, all material should be mixed together before use. The paint may be applied by roller, brush or spray in 1–2 coats with an interval of 2–4 hours between coats.
Do not add lime or mix with other types of emulsion paints. Painting work should be carried out at substrate and ambient temperatures above +10°C.
Clean tools with water immediately after use. During and after painting, rooms should be ventilated until any residual odour has disappeared.
Important! Under normal conditions, the coating reaches its full performance properties after 28 days. Intensive cleaning should therefore be avoided until this period has elapsed. Painted surfaces may be cleaned with water or a warm soap solution using a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid using hard-bristled brushes, as excessive scrubbing may create glossy spots on the matt finish.
Manufacturer’s warranty: the manufacturer guarantees that the paint complies with the declared technical specifications. Any modification of the product, misuse, or application contrary to the manufacturer's instructions may significantly affect performance. The suitability of the product for specific substrates and compatibility with other materials should always be verified by trial application. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for direct or indirect damage arising from conditions beyond its control.
Tinting
White “MATTLATEX PRIME” paint is supplied ready for use. It can be tinted using the Bayris Color System on tinting equipment or manually with suitable colourants. Slight colour variation from the reference shade may occur after drying.
Tinted paint cannot be returned or exchanged.
