Application

BIOSTOP Antiseptic Primer by Bayris is designed to protect new, contaminated or overgrown surfaces against biological damage caused by fungi (mould, mildew, yeast and lichens), mixed bacterial colonies and algae, while providing long-lasting biological resistance. Bayris BIOSTOP is suitable for remedial treatment of painted surfaces, mineral substrates (cement, lime, cement-lime and brick-based), stone, slate and concrete. Suitable for both interior and exterior use.

Properties

Bayris BIOSTOP Antiseptic Primer is a ready-to-use biocidal treatment with active long-term protection. By penetrating into the substrate, it prevents biological attack on new coatings and eliminates existing infestations. It also prevents re-infestation by bacteria that develop within dead fungal and algal deposits. The product improves the adhesion of dispersion paints and renders, helping to prevent blistering and peeling of newly applied coatings. It belongs to products with high corrosive activity. BIOSTOP contributes to a healthier indoor environment and helps protect occupants from pathogenic microorganisms and harmful microbes.

Composition

Stable blend of octylisothiazolinone and quaternary ammonium compounds.

Surface Preparation

The substrate must be visually clean, dry, free from dust, biological growth and stains, and suitable for treatment. Contaminated surfaces should be cleaned mechanically. To prevent the spread of dry spores, algae and fungi, affected and overgrown surfaces should be treated before mechanical cleaning.

Warning!

Take appropriate measures to protect fixings, fasteners and reinforcement elements. The surface acquires biological resistance provided it is not exposed to atmospheric precipitation during the treatment period.

Application Method

Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +10°C and +25°C and relative humidity between 50% and 75%. Stir thoroughly before use until a uniform consistency is achieved. Suitable for spray application, as well as application by brush or roller. Apply evenly across the entire surface, avoiding areas of insufficient concentration where fungal spores and algae may survive and continue to grow.

After application, clean tools with water and detergent. The treated surface may be painted or rendered after a minimum of 12–24 hours. Drying time is 12–24 hours depending on the substrate type, climatic conditions and season.
