Application

Bayris Anti-Frost Plasticiser is designed to regulate the properties of all ready-to-use types of concrete (reinforced and non-reinforced), mortar mixes and dry construction mixtures. It is used for screeds, monolithic construction, masonry and other types of construction work at low and sub-zero temperatures from +5 °C to -15 °C.

Characteristics

A universal chloride-free additive by Bayris that reduces the mixing water content by up to 10% without changing the consistency. Accelerates setting and hardening while maintaining the workability of the concrete mix. Increases the density and waterproofing performance of finished products. Reduces the crystallisation temperature of water and accelerates the cement hydration process. Enables the achievement of the minimum required early strength of 5 MPa and improves the final strength of finished concrete products. Provides high frost resistance and prevents efflorescence during service life. When used during warmer periods, it can also significantly accelerate the concrete curing process.

Application Instructions

Apply at ambient temperatures between +25 °C and -15 °C and relative humidity above 50%. Slight sediment formation in the additive is acceptable. Add to the concrete mix simultaneously with the mixing water. Ensure even distribution of the additive by thorough mixing. When using the anti-frost additive at temperatures below 0 °C, freshly placed concrete must be protected from freezing, especially during the initial curing stage.

Warning!

Do not add to dry components.

FAQ
What Is an Anti-Frost Plasticiser for Concrete?

An anti-frost plasticiser is a specialised admixture for concrete and mortar mixes that lowers the crystallisation temperature of water and allows concrete to harden at low and sub-zero temperatures.

At What Temperature Can an Anti-Frost Plasticiser Be Used?

BAYRIS Anti-Frost Plasticiser can be used at ambient temperatures ranging from +5°C to –15°C, provided that proper concreting procedures are followed.

Is an Anti-Frost Plasticiser an Antifreeze?

No. It is not an antifreeze. The admixture works in combination with cement, accelerates the hardening process, and reduces water demand in the concrete mix.

What Is the Minimum Cement Content Recommended in Winter?

For winter concreting, a cement content of 270–300 kg per m³ of concrete mix is recommended.

Should Mixing Water Be Heated?

Yes. During winter concreting, the mixing water is recommended to be heated to 70–80°C.

Why Is Correct Admixture Dosage Important?

Correct dosage ensures the required concrete strength and helps prevent adverse effects on reinforcement and structural elements.

Can Frozen Aggregates Be Used?

No. The use of frozen aggregates, sand, or crushed stone is strictly prohibited.

Is This Admixture Suitable for Reinforced Concrete?

Yes, BAYRIS Anti-Frost Plasticiser is chloride-free and safe for reinforcement, making it suitable for both reinforced and non-reinforced concrete.

How Does an Anti-Frost Plasticiser Affect Concrete?

BAYRIS Anti-Frost Admixture improves the workability of the mix, reduces water demand, and enhances the density, water resistance, and frost resistance of concrete.

Should Concrete Be Protected at Sub-Zero Temperatures?

Yes. At temperatures below 0°C, freshly placed concrete must be protected from freezing, particularly during the early stages of hardening.

Is Sediment in the Anti-Frost Admixture Acceptable?

A small amount of sediment may form during storage. This does not affect the performance of the product once it has been thoroughly mixed before use.

Can Anti-Frost Plasticiser Be Used in Summer?

Yes. During the summer period, BAYRIS Anti-Frost Plasticiser accelerates concrete strength development and helps reduce formwork removal times.

Where Can I Buy BAYRIS Anti-Frost Plasticiser?

BAYRIS Anti-Frost Plasticiser can be purchased from builders’ merchants, BudBox showrooms, or ordered online from the official BudBox online store and leading marketplaces.

Can I Buy Anti-Frost Plasticiser Wholesale?
