Description and Properties
AGNI-1 Fire and Biological Protection for Structural Timber by Bayris is designed for the impregnation and protection of timber structures and products, including roof structures, frames, log constructions, rafter systems and similar timber elements, providing fire-retardant, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Suitable for both interior and exterior use. Intended for industrial and professional applications. Suitable for all timber species that are not in direct contact with water and are not exposed to atmospheric precipitation, under Service Classes I–VII in accordance with GOST 20022.2.
Properties
The protective impregnating treatment provides deep penetration of fire-retardant components to a depth of at least 3 mm, depending on the timber species. The level of impregnation retention and application method enables the treated timber to achieve performance corresponding to Groups I–III of flame-retardant materials (Fire Protection Efficiency Groups I–III) in accordance with GOST 16363.
The treatment protects timber against household fungi, mould, blue stain fungi, termites, insects and wood-boring pests. It is odourless, moderately resistant to wash-out and orange in colour. It changes the appearance of timber to a deep dark brown shade, making untreated areas easy to identify. The product has low corrosive activity towards ferrous metals. Treated timber remains suitable for varnishing, painting and gluing.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be visually clean, dry and free from dust, stains, decay, paint coatings, cement residues and other contamination. Timber moisture content should be between 3% and 8%. Do not use detergents before application.
Application Method
Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +15°C and +20°C and relative humidity between 50% and 75%. Stir if sediment has formed. Suitable for application by immersion and pressure impregnation in autoclaves. It may also be applied by brush, roller or spray in three to four consecutive coats, depending on the required fire protection classification. Allow a minimum interval of 8 hours between coats.
Coverage
The treatment rate required to classify timber as:
- Group I flame-retardant material is approximately 309.1 ml/m² (108.2 kg/m³ calculated as dry matter);
- Group II flame-retardant material requires a minimum application rate of 240 ml/m².
Actual consumption may increase to 500 ml/m² depending on the structure, dimensions of the treated surface and application losses.
AGNI-1 Fire and Biological Protection for Structural Timber by Bayris is designed for the impregnation and protection of timber structures and wood products, providing fire-retardant, antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Coverage up to 500 ml/m² depending on the structure and design of the timber element
Drying Time 8 hrs at an air temperature not below 15°C and relative humidity not exceeding 70%. Fixation time within the timber: 5 days
