Application
"Quartz Grunt" Primer (Silicone-Based) TM "Bayris" is designed for pre-priming and creating an adhesion layer before applying silicone decorative renders, “PROFI” series paints and construction mortars. Recommended as a functional layer in façade thermal insulation systems based on mineral wool or as a temporary standalone protective coating for preserving external insulation systems during winter periods. "Quartz Grunt" (Silicone-Based) can be applied to mineral and concrete substrates of all types, including lime and silicate surfaces. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
Characteristics
Environmental benefits are confirmed in accordance with the international standard DSTU ISO 14024. Silicone primer "Quartz Grunt" TM "Bayris" does not cause allergic reactions or irritation. It is free from strong odours and highly toxic substances. The material creates a highly durable textured layer on both smooth, low-absorbency substrates and porous, absorbent unpainted surfaces, significantly improving the adhesion of subsequent finishing layers. High adhesion greatly facilitates the application and texturing of decorative renders.
The resulting coating is weather-resistant and vapour permeable, helping to prevent stains and reduce the risk of colour inconsistency in the render layer. Moisture accumulation and biological growth inside the substrate pores are minimised. The material also offers excellent frost resistance. In liquid form, the primer is milky white, while the dried coating is white.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be level, sound, visually clean, dry and free from dust, loose particles, oil, chalk, adhesive, lime or silicone-based coatings, and suitable for treatment. When using tinted renders, the primer should be tinted to match the selected finish colour.
Highly absorbent, porous or weak substrates should first be treated with a strengthening deep penetrating primer TM "BAYRIS". Surfaces affected by microorganisms must be mechanically cleaned, dried and additionally treated with "BIO STOP" antiseptic primer TM "BAYRIS".
Composition: Water dispersion of acrylic copolymer, combination of silicone emulsions, quartz and marble fillers, and special additives. Does not contain organic solvents.

Tinting: Suitable for machine tinting according to Spirit, NCS, RAL, Monicolor and Caparol 3D colour charts.
Application Method
Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +8°C and +25°C and relative humidity levels between 50% and 80%.
If necessary, the material may be diluted with water by no more than 3%. Before application, thoroughly mix the primer to a uniform consistency using a low-speed mixer. Apply using a brush, roller or paintbrush. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Further finishing works may be carried out 24 hours after priming, provided that the resulting coating is resistant to scratching with a metal tool.
Warning!
During application and drying, protect the surface from direct sunlight, rain and strong wind until the material has completely dried.
