Description & Uses
PU-PRO Polyurethane Varnish Hardener (Component B) is a specialized activator based on hydrophilic aliphatic polyisocyanate. When added to the water-based polyurethane varnish concentrate (Component A), it chemically reacts to ensure full cross-linking and form a high-strength protective film. VOC-free.
Intended Use: Exclusively designed for use as the second component (Component B) within the PU-PRO TM BAYRIS two-part varnish system. Formulated to create a topcoat protection over mineral substrates, microcement floors, decorative plasters, timber surfaces, as well as wet areas (shower zones, bathrooms) and EPOXY PRO TM BAYRIS polymer coatings. Delivers exceptional resistance to abrasion, staining, and household chemicals.
Technical Characteristics & Mix Ratios
The hardener reacts with the base to provide a clear, seamless, matte finish that is highly elastic, UV-resistant (non-yellowing), and offers superior adhesion. It preserves the original colour of the substrate and stands up to frequent wet cleaning.
Mixing Ratio: Components must be mixed in the strict ratio of A : B = 100 : 25 parts by weight (or 80% Component A to 20% Component B by mass).
Application & Instructions
Mixing Preparation: Add the full required amount of Hardener (Component B) to the container with Base (Component A). Thoroughly mix using a mechanical paddle mixer at low speed (250–350 rpm) for 5 minutes until completely homogenous.
Important! Do not use Component B as a standalone product. Do not use for any purpose other than specified. Never dilute or mix with other materials, water, or solvents. Strictly observe the recommended mixing ratio to ensure correct physical and mechanical performance of the cured film.
Pot Life: The mixed material (A+B) must be applied within 90–120 minutes (at +20°C). Higher ambient temperatures shorten pot life, whereas lower temperatures extend it.
Application & Storage Conditions: Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +8°C and +25°C, with relative humidity below 80%. Store in the original sealed container between +5°C and +35°C, protected from direct sunlight and heat sources. Protect from frost. Shelf life is 24 months from the manufacturing date.
