Wood Bioprotective Concentrate "Concentrat 1:9". Green by Bayris
Application and Properties
CONCENTRATE 1:9 Primer with Indicator Pigment by Bayris is designed to provide long-term biological protection for load-bearing timber elements in buildings, including roof structures, frames, log constructions, rafter systems and similar components, as well as construction timber such as flooring, fences, gazebos, decking boards, timber foundations, posts and water-gate structures. It is intended for deep and surface impregnation of timber species with moderate to high absorbency, installed either under cover or fully exposed. Suitable for timber in direct contact with fresh water and exposed to atmospheric conditions. CONCENTRATE 1:9 with Indicator Pigment is suitable for domestic, industrial and professional use in Use Classes I–IV in accordance with EN 335. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
Its environmental benefits are confirmed in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14024. Free from highly toxic substances. It provides reliable protection against household fungi, mould, blue stain fungi, algae, termites, insects and wood-boring pests. This concentrated timber preservative contains an indicator pigment and has a slight characteristic odour. It produces a blue-green colouration, allowing untreated areas to be easily identified. The indicator colour may gradually fade when exposed to weathering. The product does not cause chemical degradation of cellulose in the surface layer and does not form a polymer film or salt deposits. It has low corrosive activity towards ferrous metals. Treated timber remains suitable for varnishing, painting and gluing. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
Surface and Solution Preparation
The substrate must be visually clean and free from dust, signs of bacterial activity, stains, decay and other contamination. The moisture content of the timber must not exceed 28%. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
Application Method
Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures between +10°C and +23°C and relative humidity between 50% and 75%. Stir thoroughly before use until a uniform consistency is achieved. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
Preservative treatment should be carried out as follows:
- For Use Class I or II: apply one or two coats by brush, roller or spray. When applying two coats, allow an intermediate drying period of at least 4 hours at 21°C.
- For Use Class III: apply by immersion for a minimum of 6–8 hours. Where two treatments are required, allow an intermediate drying period of at least 24 hours under cover.
- For Use Class IV: apply in autoclaves. Repeated treatment requires an intermediate drying period of at least 24 hours under cover.
Coverage
- 60 g/m² of concentrated solution for protection against household fungi and wood-destroying pests on timber installed under cover, with no direct ground contact and no exposure to atmospheric conditions (Use Class I).
- 80 g/m² of concentrated solution for protection against household fungi and wood-destroying pests on timber in direct contact with water, without direct ground contact, and exposed to atmospheric conditions (Use Class III).
Actual consumption may increase depending on the construction, dimensions of the treated surface and application losses. :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}
Fixation Time
Following treatment, the product becomes fully fixed within the timber, provided it is not exposed to precipitation:
- For Use Class I or II: minimum 48 hours.
- For Use Class III and IV: minimum 14 days.
Service Life
- Use Class I or II: unlimited.
- Use Class III: up to 8 years.
- Use Class IV: up to 12 years.
